IBPS RRB
Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) are the banking organizations, which operate in rural areas of every state in India. Apart from providing banking and para-banking facilities, these banks promote financial services, loans for small-scale industries and agriculture and carry out government operations like pension distribution etc. The first RRB was formed on 2-10-1975 with the name “Prathama Grameen Bank” and as on 31-3-2006 RRBs covered 525 out of 605 districts with 14,494 branches all across India.
IBPS CWE for RRBs is the Common Written Examination, conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), for the recruitment of Scale I, II & III Officers and Office Assistants in Regional Rural Banks. This examination has been approved by Government of India and notified by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). This year, IBPS is conducting Phase-II of the examination and the tentative dates of the online examination for Officers are 21 and 22 September 2013 and for online examination for Office Assistants are28, 29 September 2013 and 5, 6 October 2013.
The number of participating banks as of 7 May 2013 is 67. Any candidate who is seeking the employment for the post of Officer or Office Assistant in any of the participating banks will necessary be required to write CWE exam and qualify through it.
On successfully clearing the CWE examination, candidates will be required to apply to any RRB whenever it issues its individual advertisement for interviews.
Candidates should keep in mind that IBPS is only a test-conducting agency and does not provide any guarantee of any recruitment. Each participating RRB is individual and independent of conducting separate selection process. Candidate seeking employment in an RRB should wait for the recruitment notification of the same RRB and then apply for the desired job. While applying for the job, candidate should meet the eligibility criteria of the respective RRB.
This year, in 2013, IBPS CWE Phase-II for RRBs is being conducted for the following posts:
- Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
- Officer Scale-I
- Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer
- Officer Scale-II Specialist Officer:
- Officer Scale-III
