Stipendiary Engineer/Assistants/Technician

National Institute of Technology Rourkela has a social obligation to train the young men and women of the community in jobs that will fetch them rewarding employment. To make it possible, the institute has a scheme of “stipendiaries”. Under this scheme, the institute appoints

• Stipendiary Engineer (Diploma Engineer)
• Stipendiary Technician (ITI)
• Stipendiary Assistants (BA/BSC/B.Com/BCA/BBA)

Some key features of this scheme are:

• The stipendiary personnel will be given opportunity to earn on-the-job experience, working alongside regular employees, helps them learn various trades.
• Maximum 3 years, extension for 3rd year depending on a certificate by HOD to the effect that the incumbent has learnt all skills and is ready for an open market job. Stipend shall not be available after 3 years or 25th birthday whichever comes earlier

Qualification

1. Stipendiary Engineers

• a)Stipendiary Engineer (Civil) : Diploma in Civil Engineering / Architecture
• b)StipendiaryHorticulturist : B. Sc/Diploma/ Equivalent in Agriculture /Horticulture / Forestry
• c)Stipendiary Catering Technoloeist  : Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management and/or Catering Technology
• d) Stipendiary Engineer : Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering /equivalent disciplines with intent / experience in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Evidence of prior experience to be submitted)
• e)Stipendiary Engineer (Sound Engineering)  : Diploma in Sound Engineering / equivalent disciplines with intent / experience in Sound Engineering (Evidence of prior experience to be submitted)

2 Stipendiary Assistants : Graduation in any branch or Diploma in Office management / secretarial practices. Desirable: Superior academic records throughout career and sood knowledge in MS Office.
